Update thứ tư, 03/01/2024

On December 1, Mr. Chris Marshall - Dean of Business School, University of Bedfordshire (UK) had a training session for lecturers teaching the training collaboration program between the University of Bedfordshire (UOB) and Foreign Trade University. (FTU).

The training session was attended by Assoc. Prof Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Hang - Head of Human Resources Department, Dr. Ha Cong Anh Bao, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law; Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dat, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of International Education with lecturers participating in teaching Levels 4, 5, 6 of the Program.

In the framework of the training session, Mr. Chris Marshall focused on 3 main contents: New contents of the Bachelor of Business Administration program with intensive Business Analysis; Methods of evaluating subjects and instructions on how to mark and correct students' assignments; Artificial Intelligence and Academic Integrity.

At the beginning of the training session, Mr. Chris shared the new contents of the Bachelor of Business Administration Program with an emphasis on Business Analysis. UOB is committed to providing quality educational programs for students, with the hope that students will be equipped with the most practical knowledge and skills in Business Administration to enter the volatile labor markets.

Mr. Chris Marshall guides lecturers on methods of evaluating subjects and how to mark and correct students' assignments. In his opinion, marking and correcting lessons need to closely follow the criterions in the program. Lecturers need to explain clearly, provide specific evidence, rich sources of documents and accurate data/parameters to explain to students. The important thing about marking and correcting students' assignments is that students will strengthen both their knowledge and skills for themselves and their classmates.

Some problems were received a lot of attention from lecturers during the training session, which was Academic Integrity and Applications of Artificial Intelligence in education. Students and Lectures need to be committed to Academic Integrity in learning and teaching. This is clearly shown in the exercises and essays of students. For example, citing full sources and authentic evidence. At UOB, plagiarism checking software is used in all student submitted assignments. Students can use this software to check for plagiarism before submitting their assignments. Using of artificial intelligence (AI) in education is becoming increasingly popular. However, instead of completely banning AI in learning, lecturers also allow students to use AI in statistics and citing sources.

During the business trip, Mr. Chris Marshall also had a meeting with students of the Bachelor of Business Analysis collaboration program between the University of Bedfordshire and the Foreign Trade University.

During this meeting, Mr. Chris emphasized that collaboration between the University of Bedfordshire and the University of Foreign Trade is one of the activities, that both schools are paying close attention to. Mr. Chris said that the University of Bedfordshire is very interested in the quality of training, it always ensures that studying at Foreign Trade University will bring the same learning experience to students as when they studied in the UK.

The University of Bedfordshire is committed to providing students with advanced curriculum that keeps up with trends and times, equipping students with the necessary skills to confidently enter the labor market after graduation. These skills not only will help them increase their work efficiency but also help them have life experiences, integrate globally, and experience today's multidimensional culture. He also shared that with current educational trends, collaboration programs are a very popular in many countries.
