Foreign Trade University (FTU) recently held a working session with Mr. Thor Kerr – Dean ASEAN & Global, responsible for Curtin University’s collaboration activities in Southeast Asia. Attending the meeting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Hien – FTU Vice President, along with representatives from various functional departments of the university.

During the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thuy Ngoc – Dean of the Faculty of International Education, highlighted the remarkable achievements of the joint Bachelor of Commerce program with a major in Logistics and Supply Chain Management between FTU and Curtin. The program has been developing very positively, attracting increasing interest from students; notably, the number of applications for the second intake has multiplied compared to the first year. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thuy Ngoc also expressed strong confidence in Curtin’s continuous support for both students and the Faculty throughout the implementation process.

On the partner’s side, Mr. Thor Kerr highly appreciated the results of the cooperation and introduced the Curtin Startup Year – a 20-week entrepreneurship initiative for students. This program offers a practical environment where students can develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), build and validate business models, and receive support in legal, financial, and intellectual property aspects. It is not a vocational training program but an immersive entrepreneurial experience, adding unique value and attractiveness to the joint program between FTU and Curtin.

This meeting not only strengthened the partnership between the two institutions but also opened up more opportunities for FTU students to study in a high-quality international environment, combined with practical experiences and solid career orientation.
