On March 4, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a business trip to Australia to attend the ASEAN - Australia Special Summit and officially visited Australia at the invitation of Australian Prime Minister - Mr. Anthony Albanese.

On this occasion, on March 5, 2024, the Australian Embassy in Vietnam cooperated with Macquarie University to organize an exchange event for strategic partners at the Ambassador's private home. Participating in the event included representatives of Vietnamese Universities, Australian alumni and students with outstanding achievements, especially the presence of Ms. Jane Bahen - Counselor for Education and Science, Australian Embassy in Vietnam and Professor S Bruce Dowton - Principal of Macquarie University.

Macquarie University ranks in the top 10 universities in Australia and ranked 130 in the world (according to QSranking). Macquarie University is one of the long-standing partners that grants many scholarships to joint training students of Foreign Trade University. In addition, Foreign Trade University is also cooperating with Curtin University - a school ranked 183rd in the world (according to QSranking) and in the top 1% of universities in the world that are highly rated for academics and program, implementing the Bachelor of Commerce progam majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from 2023 and this program is of great interest to Vietnamese parents and students.
