"What can I do with this major?"

It sounds like a simple question, but it’s not always easy to answer while you are still sitting in a lecture hall.

For students of the F-UOB-17 cohort — the Bachelor of Business Administration, Business Analytics concentration, in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire (UK) — the answer is becoming clearer with every class. Specifically, as part of the "Guest Speaker Series" in the course Evolution and Revolution of Business, taught by Dr. Nguyen Thuy Anh (Deputy Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, FTU) and Dr. Hoang Thi Thuy Duong (Faculty of Business Administration, FTU), students had the opportunity to meet and engage with Dr. JLo Tran (Hue Tran), CEO & Co-Founder of VBI Academy and Deputy Director of the Vietnam Data Human Resources Center (Vietnam National Data Association, Ministry of Public Security).

Covering two key topics, "Evolution of Technology" and "Evolution of Big Data," the session provided not only academic insights but also a clearer perspective on the industry and career orientation through practical viewpoints:

• How data is applied in corporate operations.

• How the technology ecosystem and Big Data have evolved through different stages.

• Essential skills required to pursue a career in this field.

Some knowledge is hard to fully grasp through textbooks alone. However, when placed in a real-world context, the professional landscape becomes much clearer and more relatable.

Through such experiential learning, the program aims not just to "teach knowledge," but to help students "understand the industry and the profession" early on — serving as a solid foundation for their future learning and development journey. ✨
