With the goal of expanding international education cooperation, a delegation from Foreign Trade University (FTU), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đào Ngọc Tiến, Vice President, conducted a significant working visit to Australia. The visit aimed to foster collaboration with leading universities and create new academic opportunities for students and faculty.
Collaboration with the University of Melbourne
At the University of Melbourne—ranked 13th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025—the FTU delegation met with senior leadership to explore potential academic partnerships. Discussions focused on joint research opportunities in key fields such as business administration, finance, information technology, innovation, and sustainable development. The University of Melbourne expressed strong interest in faculty exchange programs, emphasizing the importance of strengthening academic connections between the two institutions.
New Joint Program with Monash University
During the visit to Monash University—ranked 37th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025—FTU and Monash reached an agreement to launch a Bachelor of Finance joint training program. This collaboration will provide students from FTU’s Faculty of International Education with the opportunity to study in Monash’s world-class academic environment. The signing of this partnership marks a significant milestone in the educational collaboration between FTU and Monash, promising substantial benefits for both students and faculty members.
Strengthening Partnership with Curtin University
At Curtin University, ranked 174th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2025, FTU’s delegation engaged in high-level discussions with university leaders regarding long-term collaboration strategies. Meetings were also held with relevant departments to discuss support services for the first cohort of students in the Bachelor of Commerce program, specializing in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, as they transition to Curtin.
A guest lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Đào Ngọc Tiến was also organized, where Curtin faculty and students participated in discussions on academic cooperation, faculty exchanges, international internships, and student mobility programs. The delegation also had the opportunity to meet FTU students currently studying at Curtin, gaining firsthand insights into their academic experiences, student life, and career opportunities in Perth, Australia.
A Successful Visit with Promising Outcomes
This visit to Australia has yielded significant achievements, reinforcing FTU’s partnerships with top Australian universities while opening new pathways for high-quality education and research for both students and faculty. The strengthened collaborations pave the way for greater academic mobility, innovative research, and enhanced learning experiences for the FTU community.
