Foreign Trade University - Faculty of International Education

On August 22, 2023, Foreign Trade University received and worked with delegates from Hyogo University (Japan) on the cooperation programs between the two universities. The delegation from Hyogo University includes Dr. Makoto Kono – President, Dr. Shigeki Matsumoto – Dean of the Faculty of Contemporary Economics research, and two interpreters. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan – President of Foreign Trade University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thuy Ngoc – Dean of the Faculty of International Education, together with staff in charge of the joint-training program, received the delegation from Hyogo University.

Dr. Makoto Kono expressed his pleasure on his first visit to Vietnam, especially to Foreign Trade University. He paid compliments on the quality of transfer students of the joint-training program. Dr. Kono also hoped that the two universities could cooperate on more aspects such as the exchange of lecturers and students, and providing support for students from Hyogo University in getting internship opportunities in Vietnam. Most importantly, from September 2023, Hyogo University will launch a scholarship fund exclusively for students transferring from Foreign Trade University. The scholarship amount is 326,000 Yen per year at Hyogo University and will be automatically deducted into tuition fee.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan introduced to the delegation about the cooperation programs that Foreign Trade University is working with Japanese universities, businesses and organizations. Also, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan mentioned the Program “Data Science in Business and Economics”, which is receiving much attention at Foreign Trade University.

Dr. Makoto Kono expressed his interest in this program and would like to collaborate with Foreign Trade University by providing specialists in Data analysis and application – Dr. Miyazaki Kosei, founding member of Yahoo! Japan.

This meeting contributed significantly to strengthening the relationship between the two universities, opening up more cooperation opportunities in the future.
