Foreign Trade University - Faculty of International Education

On November 7th, 2024, the Foreign Trade University (FTU) held a solemn and successful graduation ceremony for the Bachelor's and Master's degree joint programs. The ceremony was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Bùi Anh Tuấn – President of FTU; Associate Professor Dr. Lê Thị Thu Thủy – Chairwoman of the University’s Board of Trustees; Associate Professor Dr. Vũ Thị Hiền – Vice President of FTU, along with representatives from partner universities in the United Kingdom whose students graduated: the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK; the University of Sunderland, UK; the University of Bedfordshire, UK; and the University of Northampton, UK. The ceremony also welcomed a significant number of parents, students, and alumni.

This year’s graduation ceremony was held on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Faculty of International Education at Foreign Trade University – the place where students and alumni have placed their trust to nurture their dreams of knowledge. 

The number of graduates from programs in Vietnam this year is four times higher than in previous years, with a total of 296 students/alumni. During the ceremony, parents were arranged to watch the event live on the main stage, while students and alumni were seated on the first floor in an open space and followed the program through online screens as they waited for their turn to receive their diplomas. The solemn atmosphere, filled with graduation colors, deeply moved guests, families, new graduates, and new postgraduates alike.

After 15 years of growth and development, the Faculty of International Education has continuously improved the quality of education. A clear testament to this is that, among the graduates of the joint programs with the University of Northampton, UK, two-thirds of the students earned a First Class degree. This figure is a clear and proud reflection of the high quality of students at the Faculty of International Education, Foreign Trade University.

What was especially moving was the graduation attire worn by the students and alumni on this day. This gown is an adapted version of the regalia from partner universities, modified to reflect the distinctive educational mark of Foreign Trade University. Wearing this graduation attire, students and alumni could not hide their joy, pride, and sense of accomplishment.

Associate Professor Dr. Bùi Anh Tuấn, President of the University, expressed gratitude to the international partners, organizations, businesses, faculty, staff, and the families of the new graduates and postgraduates for their support in building an open educational ecosystem at Foreign Trade University, one that distinctly reflects the university’s identity and adds value to the joint training programs, creating an important foundation for students’ success. The President also encouraged the new graduates and postgraduates to remain strong and passionate in seizing every opportunity and mastering their own futures, urging them to embrace challenges and difficulties as they strive to reach new heights.
