Foreign Trade University - Faculty of International Education

As part of its efforts to strengthen international cooperation, Foreign Trade University (FTU) formally welcomed and held a working session with a delegation from Niagara University (USA), marking more than a decade of strong partnership between the two educational institutions.

Attending the meeting, representing Foreign Trade University were:

• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Hien – Vice President;

• Ms. Dao Thi Thu Ha – Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department;

• Ms. Vu Phuong Lan – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Education.

Representing Niagara University were:

• Father James J. Maher, C.M. – President;

• Ms. Do Quynh Anh – Representative of Niagara University in Vietnam.

The working session took place in an open, collaborative, and productive atmosphere. Both parties reviewed the outstanding achievements of the past decade, particularly in the fields of joint training programs and academic exchange. Numerous cooperative programs have been effectively implemented, contributing to the enhancement of educational quality while expanding learning opportunities and international integration for students.

During the meeting, leaders from both sides discussed cooperation strategies for the upcoming period, amid a shifting international education landscape driven by global changes. Discussions focused on further promoting joint training programs, expanding student and faculty exchanges, and strengthening coordination in scientific research and corporate networking.

Furthermore, Father James J. Maher, C.M., President of Niagara University, shared insights into new training programs, including short-term courses and emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). He also highlighted interdisciplinary training models designed to equip students with comprehensive competencies to meet the demands of the modern labor market.

Both parties engaged in detailed discussions regarding favorable conditions for student exchange activities, including administrative procedures, visas, and safety factors, to ensure the best interests and learning experiences for students.

Niagara University is a prestigious educational institution in New York State (USA), renowned for its practical and highly applicable training orientation. The continued consolidation and development of this partnership with Niagara University are expected to bring significant practical value, contributing to the improvement of training quality and affirming Foreign Trade University’s international standing.
