Christmas prom: “miracle in december 2017”

Multilingual and diversity of cultures are the outstanding points of Foreign Trade University. Students are creative, well-versed and talented in singing, dancing and magic performances. It is easy to recognize these highlights through the series of Christmas and New Year celebrations in 2018 during the first three weeks of December by the Faculty of International Education (FoIE), Faculty of Japanese, Faculty of Chinese and especially the presence of the International Training Committee and ICCC International Commerce Consultancy Center from the Ho Chi Minh Campus of Foreign Trade University. The chain of events includes the Photo Competition 2017, the Cultural Camp and the Christmas Gala Event on December 21st,  

In the Photo Competition, 36 photos showing Foreign Trade University’s 36 different angles and emotions were submitted by students from 25/11/2017 to 25/12/2017. Picture of the author Dong Thu Trang class FB10B from Business Administration program cooperated with University of Bedfordshire, UK with 1094 likes and 3925 shares on Facebook received the highest score and became the Most Favorable Winner of the Photo Contest.

Picture of author Dong Thi Thu Quynh from Class English 4 of Faculty of Accounting Course K55 has been evaluated by the Professional Council including Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan - Deputy Director of Political and Student Affairs; Mr. Mai Tuan Nam - Department of Training Management; Mr. Ngo Thanh Bac - Chairman of Photography Club and Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuong Van - Vietnam Human Resources Development Institute – Japan. The Council decided to award the highest prize to Quynh for her excellence.

Christmas of 2017 this year was very special when Christmas booths were decorated in various styles of Japan, Taiwan, the United States, China, Denmark, England, and Canada. These booths represent the countries where training programs that Foreign Trade University of both Campus Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cooperate. The school ground is vibrant with twinkling pines, signaling the Christmas season.

Christmas atmosphere in Foreign Trade University becomes warmer when Saigonistmas of the faculty and students of 2^th Campus attended. 36 teachers and students had the first experience of the coldness at Christmas in Hanoi with full of excitement. And it was the surprising joy when they won the first prize on the camp competition with their special performance. The students got  to share stories with the President, took pictures with the teachers in the Board of Management, prided themselves on their camp, and their activities.

The judges of the camp competition included Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Thu Thuy - Vice President of the university, Dr. Pham Thu Huong - Head of Training Management, M.S. Hoang Tuan Dung - Secretary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. The judges decided to award two more prizes for the camps, raising the number of  camps won to three camps. The support of the judges is such a great encouragement for students.

Funny game and activities at hall A Foreign Trade University

Faculty of International Education, Faculty of Japanese, Faculty of Chinese, and especially the presence of Department of International Education 2^th campus and ICCC 2^th campus, once again illuminated the stage with performances identify the diversity cultural of countries.

A Jingle bell song singing in English, Japanese and Chinese, was performed. A night of fun showed the unity of 2 campus of Foreign Trade University in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The event also marked the 9th birthday of Faculty of International Education involving 9 years of effort to build and develop strongly. The maturity of the Faculty today is supported by the facilitation and assistance in all aspects of the Foreign Trade University.

Christmas prom: “Miracle in December 2017” has not only demonstrated the spirit of solidarity among the units but also a bridge between teachers and students, overcoming the gap in age and geography.
