Bringing FTU’s pride to the University of New Brunswick (Canada)

The Delegation from Foreign Trade University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien – FTU Vice President, just had a visit to the University of New Brunswick (Canada) from May 16 to May 21, 2023, after 6 years of successful cooperation and implementation of the joint-training program.

The joint-training program between FTU and UNB is the first undergraduate program in Vietnam in cooperation with university in Canada. The University of New Brunswick expressed appreciation for this cooperation, emphasizing effectiveness and quality assurance. Having so many distinguished students, FTU is honored by UNB as a strategic partner. UNB has offered further cooperation in other aspects, including scientific research and the exchange and development of human resources.

Also on this trip, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien – Vice President of FTU – signed the MOU with the University of New Brunswick at Saint John campus, bringing more choices of major as well as study locations for FTU students transferring to Canada.  

In the meetings with the Board of Management of Faculties at UNB, FTU received compliments on the professionalism in training and coordination, contributing to the success of the joint-training programs, even during the most difficult Covid period. This joint-training program is the only one that could maintain normal operation over the pandemic, ensuring students’ study and transfer schedules despite the hardship.

On this special occasion, Mr. Dao Ngoc Tien also attended a special meeting hosted by Dr. Dev Mitras – Dean of the Faculty of Management. This was the chance for the fresh graduates and their parents to share their feelings about the journey they have been through, with lots of beautiful experiences. It was a great pride and happiness to hear the sincere thanks from the students and parents, and the compliments paid by lecturers at UNB for FTU students. Together, we brought FTU PRIDE to Canada!

The most significant outcome of this trip is to see our students growing and achieving success in Canada, which strongly affirms the prestige of Foreign Trade University, as honored by the University of New Brunswick. The two universities will implement the new agreement attained during the trip. Finally, FTU looks forward to welcoming UNB delegates to Vietnam this October!
